Choose your building, studio and move-in date on the website - you'll see the exact price for your dates straight away. Reserve it by paying £99 from your bank app. Rightmove then emails you within 48 hours to check your ID, right to rent and references - about five minutes online. Once the checks pass, you sign your licence agreement in the Zone app. If your plan needs a guarantor, Rightmove checks them too and we email them their agreement to sign.

It's advance rent that holds your studio for you - it takes the studio off the market and comes off your rent. Once you've paid it you have 7 days to finish everything: your Rightmove checks, your guarantor (if your plan needs one) and your licence agreement, signed by you and your guarantor. We'll remind you along the way. The £99 isn't refundable if you cancel, or if everything isn't finished within 7 days and we need to release the studio - but it's refunded in full if we withdraw the booking.

No. There is no security deposit at any of our buildings.

Yes - book a viewing online: in person, on a video call, or walk round now with the 3D tour. Parents are very welcome.

Email us their names after you book and we'll do our best to put you on the same floor.

By bank - through your banking app, with no card fees - or by bank transfer if you're paying from abroad. We don't take card payments or Direct Debits.

Yes at The Drapery, College Street, De Montfort Mews, 8 West Walk, Upperton Road, Pannell House, 12-16 De Montfort Street and Chetwyn House. Our other buildings have a set yearly utility fee, shown on the building page before you book.

Only if something goes wrong:

• Late rent - interest at the Bank of England base rate on rent more than 14 days late
• Out-of-hours lock-out - £50, plus the cost of a replacement fob or key if needed
• Other out-of-hours call-outs that a resident causes, such as a false fire alarm - charged separately
• Damage caused by you or your guests - the cost of putting it right
• Parking, where available - ask us for details

Someone living in the UK who agrees to pay your rent if you don't. It can't be another student.

Only for the three-payment or monthly plans. If you don't have a UK guarantor, you can pay in full instead, or use a guarantor company.

Rightmove checks guarantors online - ID, references and a credit check - it takes about 10-15 minutes. They'll normally need to show a yearly income of at least 36 times the monthly rent they're guaranteeing - for example, £27,000 a year for £750 a month. Rightmove may ask for:

• Photo ID (passport or driving licence)
• Proof of address
• Recent payslips, or accounts or an accountant's reference if self-employed

Incomplete or inaccurate information can delay referencing or mean the guarantor isn't accepted.

Most run 51 or 52 weeks from late summer to the end of August. January starts run from early January to 31 August. Late lets run from the day you move in. The exact dates are on the building page and in your licence.

Only if you watch or record live TV, or use BBC iPlayer. Streaming other services, gaming or watching DVDs doesn't need one.

We recommend it - especially for laptops, tablets and phones.

At 12-16 De Montfort Street and 28 De Montfort Street every studio has its own washing machine. Every other building has a laundry room, and the machines are run from an app on your phone.

Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Outside those hours: in Leicester, Samsic Security look after our buildings; in Northampton, there's an on-site security team at The Drapery, who look after College Street too, and an out-of-hours emergency and fire alarm response service. Who to contact, and how, is in your Zone app - and if anyone is in danger, call 999.

We, or someone working for us, may need to inspect the studio, carry out repairs or show it to someone. We'll give you at least 24 hours' notice in writing. We'll only come in sooner if you agree, or in an emergency.

From the start date in your licence agreement.

Everything is in your Zone app. Before we can hand over keys:

• your licence agreement is signed
• your Rightmove checks have passed
• your guarantor has signed, if your plan needs one
• any payment due before move-in is paid

Book your moving-in slot in the Zone app - booking opens a month before your licence starts, and you can pick any time up to a month after it (later than that, just email us). Bring the photo ID you used for your Rightmove check and we'll set you up with your digital key. Your rent starts on your licence start date, whatever day you move in.

Yes. Check it within 24 hours of moving in and email us anything that isn't right, with photos. Late inventories can't be used as a record of the studio's condition.
